Welcome to Russian North
Solovki Islands, 27 August-2 September 2015
Within the frame of the Federal Youth Program coordinated by the Ministry of Education and Research/Youth Agency, Northern (Arctic) Federal University (NArFU) got the funds for running the project aimed at organizing the study trip of young Barents citizens to the Solovki Island – the major historical and cultural sightseeing place in the Russian North, UNESCO heritage.
NArFU has been selected as the project beneficiary as a chair of the joint BEAC and BRC Working Group on Education and Research.Young Barents citizens are invited to the Solovki Islands – the major historical and cultural sightseeing place in the Russian North, UNESCO heritage.
The draft trip plan is:
27 August - arrival in Arkhangelsk, transfer to hotel
28 August - visiting Northern (Arctic) Federal University Campus and University Library, welcome session, flight to the Solovki Islands, excursions and master-classes
29 August - sightseeing on Solovki
30 August - sightseeing, flight to Arkhangelsk
31 August - trip to the museum of wooden architecture "Malye Korely", meeting with NArFU students and staff, meeting with the Arkhangelsk region Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, JWGY Co-Chair
1 September - participating in the University Program dedicated to the start of a new academic year
2 September - departure day
The costs of the program are covered by NArFU (accommodation, meals, transfers in Arkhangelsk, air-trip to Solovki).
Deadline for applications is 10 July 2015. The registration form is attached.
Considering summer vacation period, we inform you that it takes 3-4 weeks to get Russian visa.
